Do parents need an app from the app store?
No. Hello Kita is a web app. It runs in the browser on smartphones, tablets and computers, and one tap puts it on the home screen, where it behaves like any familiar app. Parents receive an invitation link or a QR code in the parent letter and set their own password along the way. There is no listing in the App Store or on Google Play, and none is needed.
How does lunch get into the app?
With Pro, parents order meals in a monthly calendar and top up their meal credit by PayPal or in cash, and the manager books cash payments in. The kitchen sees the number of meals per group, with absences, allergies and meal types already taken into account. Anyone who cancels before the deadline is credited automatically, and receipts come as PDF. Parents can already see the weekly menu with allergens in Basic.
What does Hello Kita cost for a Kita in Mönchengladbach?
The provider’s standard prices apply: Basic costs €29.90 a month or €299 a year, Pro €69.90 a month or €699 a year, each plus VAT. Paying yearly gives you two months free. You can try Basic for 14 days and Pro for one month, both without payment details. For operators with several centres, Wasa Consult prepares an individual offer.
Do we have to set everything up ourselves?
Yes, and that is the idea. The manager or the office creates the Kita, its groups and the logins, guided step by step inside the app, with an introduction as a task list on screen or as a PDF. According to the provider, a Kita is ready this way in under 15 minutes. If you would still rather hand over the initial setup, you can book it as an optional extra service for a single fee of €799.
How is the children’s data protected?
When you register, you conclude a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR digitally. Data is transmitted in encrypted form, each Kita is kept separate in the database, and health data and authorised collectors are stored separately with their own permission check. Hello Kita uses no cookies for advertising or tracking. When the contract ends, the data is deleted within 30 days, and an export is available on request.
Can educators report sick through the app?
Yes, with Pro. Whoever is ill reports it in Hello Kita, and the manager immediately receives a message in the dashboard that can be marked as read. Extending the absence, reporting back fit and handing in the doctor’s certificate later all happen there too. The rota marks the person as ill automatically, confidentially and without a diagnosis, so nobody has to pick up the phone first thing in the morning.
We are an operator with several Kitas. Is there an offer for us?
Yes. For operators and networks with several sites the provider does not publish list prices but prepares an individual offer. Use the form on this page to tell Wasa Consult how many centres in and around Mönchengladbach are involved and which modules you need, or call them directly on +49 2452 860 83 73.
What happens after the trial?
After 14 days of Basic or one month of Pro, you continue with a paid plan only, without interruption and with all your data. The first payment is due only then. Monthly plans can be cancelled at the end of any month; yearly plans run for twelve months and end with the contract year. You can switch from Basic to Pro at any time, and all data stays in place.
Is Hello Kita available in other languages?
The app itself is in German, for parents as well. This page also exists in English, Polish and Russian so that operators, managers and teams in Mönchengladbach can read about it in the language they prefer. You are welcome to ask questions in these languages through the form; the reply comes from Wasa Consult.
